Late Dr. Mustafa Isa Qasim was a perfect role model!
After settling down in Area H, ABU Quarters in late 90s, through him it was possible to have a temporary mosque, about six years later, a befitting mosque was completed.
He has been the community Imam for over 20 years.
Since 2000 or 2001, he has been taking lessons, ranging different books in Hadith, Fiqh and Seerah (traditions, jurisprudence and history).
In the final months of his life, it was decided that he would start to hold similar lessons at ITN mosque.
He was ever-consistent in his lessons in ABU central mosque.
For the years, he included English language in his unique campus sermon for non-Hausa and Arabic students.
He delivers annual Ramadan in English language in the University.
His after dawn prayers lessons have spanned over decades, it was his daily practice since 1987 in Zaria, he told us.
For the past 40 years, it was said that he never misses I'itiqaf in Ramadan. I just learnt that he has made plans for this year's seclusion.
He was our Imam, and led Friday prayers in ABU and ITN Zaria.
